The Bright Side

Our dishwasher broke about almost two weeks ago and I have been counting down the minutes until it was fixed.  I really could be a dishwasher sales person because I rank them right up there with life's greatest inventions.  We run our dishwasher at least once every day, sometimes twice a day.  Don't get me wrong, I am not above washing dishes by hand, but I am big on sanitizing and I believe a dishwasher can do this better than me.  So for the past week and a half we have hauled baskets of dirty dishes to the kitchen in the office.  Yes, we do have a back up dishwasher in the office, but it is a pain in the you know what to haul the dishes back and forth.

Okay so back to the bright side.  One great thing came from having a broken dishwasher.  In the mix of all the dirty dishes being hauled in and out, a night came when we had no clean bottles.  So I gave Jack his milk in one of Sam's Nuby cups and he accepted it with no fuss.  After a couple of days he was referring to the cups as his "ba ba."  It couldn't have been any easier.  I expect us to have a few setbacks since Landry (aka Suri Cruise) is still using a bottle, but I am so happy to have all cups now.  We had a new dishwasher installed Friday and as thrilled as I was to load it up and turn it on, I was more thrilled not to be loading any bottles into the top rack.  So there really is always a bright side, you just have to look through the stacks of dirty dishes to find it.
All cups now for this big boy...

Jack is such a sweet boy. They are growing up. No more bottles and pre-school on the way. I can't believe it. Sam will not like pre-school in the beginning, but after a few days he will look forward to going. It is the start of his independent life. His first step.
I love you guys,
