Will at 19 months. Well, if a picture is worth a thousand words...
This is who he is. My busy boy. He is into everything. Absolutely everything. Like climbing into the bathroom sink with his pajamas on and getting completely soaked at least twice a week. And figuring out how to unlock the deadbolt and a dash outside. And screaming louder than I thought humanly possible. And my personal favorite? The spitting. The boy has learned how to spit (and when I find out who taught him, they will pay) like a major league baseball player. Except unlike a baseball player, my son prefers to spit indoors. On the floor. In dishes. On tables. It's lovely. Just lovely.
I am amazed at how little he sleeps, skipping naps and staying up as late as he can. He has endless energy and can hang with the big boys, climbing, wrestling and rough housing right along with them. The result is a lot of tumbles, bumps and bruises and he has had more bloody noses and busted lips than both his brothers combined. Every time he gets hurt, he runs over to us to "tell on" whatever hurt him. He points to the culprit (his brothers, the floor, the wall) and waits for us to "spank" what hurt him. I can spank a floor and fuss at a wall like no body's business these days.
On a happy note, he has added a few new words to his vocabulary...school, bible, shoe, eat. But don't expect to hear him say any of them. He talks only when he feels like and turns his nose up at the silly game of repeating the same word over and over again to his adoring mother. His relationship with Jack has really blossomed with Sam away at school and I love watching them interact through out the day. He becomes a little more dramatic every day and can make some really great faces. He is funny and spunky and loves to make us laugh. He still loves to dance and, thanks to his Daddy, he currently has a real love affair with Adele. He is pure sweetness and it's easy to overlook the messiness created by his busy hands when he is cuddled in our arms or offering countless sweet smiles to us throughout the day. And we certainly forget when we watch him show off his newest talent...praying before dinner.
It's a mumbled mess of sounds, none of which we can understand, but all four of us sit there smiling, hanging on every jumbled syllable. It is precious. Simply and purely precious. Peaking and all.
Will, my sweet, sweet boy. Today we mark another month filled with joy, laughter and happiness. Because of you and all you are. We love you so much. More than you'll ever know.
