Two

Jack woke up this morning a happy, excited two year old. I sang "Happy Birthday" to him and soon he joined in and began singing to himself. We had a full day planned to help Jack celebrate. Bec joined us and we headed to Barnes and Noble this morning for story time because it was Dora and Diego day there today. We left the bookstore and headed to the park for a picnic.
We played and headed home where Jack gave Mama a present and napped for the first time in many, many days. After nap time, the boys and I rode the gator and explored the woods looking for the perfect stick. Daddy came home and surprised Jack with his big gift from us, a vintage John Deere tractor that Jody restored for him. He was thrilled and will be even happier when the trailer that matches arrives.
We had Jack's favorite meal, spaghetti, for dinner and waited for Nana and JP, G-Ma and Poppa, all the Lees and Bec and Chris to join us for cake.
I worked hard making a Dora cake for my new two year old and I was proud of my baking skills. Jody informed me that it looked like Al Sharpton and not Dora, so my baking bliss was short lived.
Jack, however, was thrilled when he saw me heading his way with Dora. He loved the cake and he quickly blew out his candles. He loved the cake so much, he didn't want me to cut it, but eventually he gave in and I took Dora away.

Jack opened his gifts from Mama and Daddy and Sam and one small gift from Nana tonight. He'll have lots more to open at his birthday party on Sunday. He had lots of help opening his gifts tonight, and he made sure to keep a close eye on Landry. He sure didn't want her stealing any of his loot.
The big boys helped too. Jack was such a great sport, allowing them to tear into his gifts and even play with most of them before he did.
He worked hard, ripping into all his gifts and nearly put Cade's eye out with his flailing arms and flying wrapping paper.

Jack was thrilled to see all his new Dora and Diego toys.  He got both Dora's backpack and Diego's rescue pack.  He also got Diego's jeep and a Diego doll.  He was so sweet and funny as he saw his gifts, yelling over and over, "Diego, Diego, go Diego, go, go, go" and "Du-Du-Du Dora, Du-Du-Du Dora."

We are looking forward to a pig-pickin' and a Dora and Diego party on Sunday.  I can't believe my baby is two.  But, oh how I love this new two year old sweetie.

I had a wonderful time at the birthday party. All the kids were so sweet and so cute. Jack was so happy. He is a lucky little boy. He has so many people that love him, and I am blessed to be one of those people.
