Today started a little rough. Jack fell and popped his face on the step leading into the kitchen. He immediately screamed and covered his face with his little hand. I knew it was bad. Sure enough he had busted both his nose and his lip. There was lots of blood but only a few minutes of tears and he was back to normal. He's pretty tough. Later after Sam woke up, he dropped one of my small Crate and Barrel plates on the floor and it shattered. I feel it's important to mention that this is the fourth plate they've broken this month and that Jack broke our blue willow salt and pepper shakers last week when he decided they would be great to use as cymbals. Anyway...I cleaned up the glass and noticed blood. I realized Sam had knicked his foot on a piece of the glass. He was running through the house completely uninjured until I told him to stop so I could clean his foot. When he realized he was bleeding, you would have thought he had a gunshot wound. He insisted that I carry him to Mema's for her and Keen-Keen to see and make a huge fuss over his "injury." The little one who was truly injured acted as if nothing happened and the uninjured was hysterical. Ah...the differences in these two boys.
Later Nana brought Cade and Cannon to play outside. It was a beautiful 80 degrees and we wanted to take full advantage of the last warm day we're expected to have this week. And take advantage of it we did...
Jack sporting a puffy lip as he drove the gator into the pasture gate.
I attempted to push Jack up and down our path until he fell asleep and this happened. Needless to say, he never napped.
The big boys insisted I drag out the kiddie pool and hook up the sprinkler so it would shower them in the pool. They immediately popped open the umbrella and sat there letting it rain down on them. I thought this really defeated the purpose of me dragging out that hose and sprinkler, but soon I was giggling along with them.
We took a walk to G-Ma's to steal a few push-ups. Some of us got more on us than in us...
Nicole Richie joined us after her nap...
Snack time again...three naked boys and one well-dressed little girl eating oreos in the driveway...
Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me when me and all four boys took the gator for a ride by the creek and in the horse pasture. We had never driven that way before and all was great until I buried the gator in mud and I had to carry each boy to dry land with Jack attached to my other side. Jack was screaming in fear and holding on to me with a death grip as I went knee-deep in the mud trying to get each boy off the gator....Cade was running through the pasture yelling "Eewww...do-do"...Cannon was trying desperately to hold his pull-up on that had somehow gotten ripped off and Sam was running at the horses yelling, "Hey, Horsee!" We walked barefoot (my shoes were buried in the mud), the boys only wearing pull-ups, out of the pasture, climbed through the fence at the barn and walked up the hill all the way back to our house. And I was exhausted. And the boys thought it was awesome. Jody was not amused to have to pull the gator out when he got home (this was my my second time getting stuck in a month). We ate dinner at G-Ma's, took baths and are looking forward to an early bedtime. Just an ordinary hump day in our unordinary house.

They all had fun. When I got home I realized Landry's dress was on backwards all day. Oh well. Not as bad as the time I thought I had on my black gym shorts at the beach and realized after a few hours that I actually had on Corey's underwear. Thanks for today. I tried to help clean up as much as I could.
