Smiles, Shots and Suckers

Jack had his one year well check today and is certainly growing like a weed.  He is 25 pounds (70 %)and  31.5 inches long (90%).  He has grown substantially since his 6 month check up, when he was at the 50th percentile for height.  He has changed so much this week, obvious changes that seem to be happening so fast.  His face is getting thinner, his hair is becoming really thick and he is growing tall.  I can see those deep leg crevices that I love so much disappearing a little more each day.  I love those fat legs and each roll and sure hate to see them go.  Jack was a trooper today and as always, Mr. Personality.  He smiled and flirted with the receptionist, the nurse and even cut up with Dr. Mann.  He was all over the place...pushing the Dr.'s stool 5 miles around the room, riping the paper from the table, banging on the windows and opening cabinets and drawers.  His little heart broke when he got his four shots.  It was quite sweet...Sam sat on the table at Jack's head, gently rubbing his hair and saying, "Jack, it'll be okay."  As the nurse began to administer the shots Sam's face turned to a worried "What the ...do you think you're doing?" and I couldn't help but laugh...a lot.  I know the nurse thought I was nuts.  There's my baby crying on the table and I am laughing at his brother's "You better back up lady" face.  I snapped out of it, scooped Jack up and he soon stopped crying.  A sucker is a great way to cut the tears fast.  I should also mention that Sam got his flu "shot".  They gave him the nose mist and you would have thought the boy was getting four shots too.  It was a BIG deal.  And he milked it.  He needed more consoling than Jack and more rewards.  Four shots=1 sucker and no stickers...mist up the nose=2 suckers and 2 stickers...another shining example of first born vs. second.

Patiently & sweetly waiting
All smiles...Mr. Personality
So happy...no shots for me!
Busy, Busy, Busy
We Love Dr. Mann!
