Our Gingerbread House

This afternoon we built our gingerbread house, or "goon-ger-bed house" as Sam sweetly calls it.  The boys enjoyed themselves as they placed the candy on each side of the roof.  We didn't make doors or windows and did our best just to get that sticky icing on a small amount of the house.  Ours certainly didn't look like the examples on the box and Sam even pointed out, "Hey Mama, this is what it's suppose to look like."  I found myself questioning my intentions as I heard the candy hitting the floor and watched Jack smear icing on his pants and all over the table, but we finished and the boys were very proud of themselves.  We enjoyed our creation for a few short minutes and then they asked to eat it.  So Daddy tore into the house and cut the boys a piece.  They loved it and I loved that I don't have to worry about that messy icing and sticky candy anymore.  Although I am certain I will be finding little candy ball decorations for days to come...
