Dress Up, Mess up

What was I thinking?  I thought it would be an excellent idea to pack a "dress outfit" for Jack in hopes of getting a good photo of him standing in the sand.  You know, one of those pricey Strasburg beauties, stark white, complete with smocking.  This particular outfit was actually a hand me down from Sam, who I dressed up a little more than I do his younger brother.  Jack, as beautiful as he is all dressed up, just doesn't tolerate my big dress up ideas.  And while I am grateful to have gotten one picture of him standing still, clean and looking handsome, the aftermath was a little more than I'd hope for.
One quick shot and he was off, running back and forth to the water, one arm pumping, yelling, "Go!"
All that running wears a guy out and Jack felt the need to sprawl out in the sand and catch his breath. See that grin...he was now in his element, rolling around in dirt.
Never one to be still long, he rolled over and over, kicking and flailing his arms until sand covered his hair and face.
If the amount of sand in one's ear is an indication of a good time, Jack obviously had loads of fun.
After all was said and done, this is what my youngest came off the beach looking like.  Face, hands and legs caked in sand and wet up to his knees from running through the water.  I love that precious, free spirit that makes him Jack.  Ears full of sand or not.

Even dirt can't mess up that face. He is just as cute with or without the dirt. Jack and Sam just can not take a bad picture. (Do I sound llke a grandma or what)

I love them boys
