I finally got a little evidence on tape of my sneaky, sly, too cute for words little boy. The little one who grins when I tell him no, giggles 99 percent of the time after a spanking and finds great joy in mocking his Mama. This afternoon, on two separate occasions, I walked into the den to see the floor littered with the small rocks from the gas fireplace. Jack used to do this rather often but after a few run ins with his Daddy, he has stayed away from the fireplace lately. Until today, that is. The first time I caught him, I led him over to the rocks, gave him a stern "No, No," and cleaned up the mess. The second time, I again gave him a "No," but added two pops on the bottom. Pops that I thought were hard enough to do the trick. When I realized my child was seemingly unfazed, I placed him in the chair for a time out. And I began cleaning up the rocks, again. And he decided to mock me with "No, No" as I gathered them up. I grabbed my flip to capture a "pure Jack" moment. And while it doesn't do him justice, the naughty little comic, it does shed a little light on what I'm up against and why I spend most of my day cleaning up after him and when disciplining him why I often walk away shaking my head...and laughing.
****Don't forget to pause the play list on the bottom right of the page!!!
My Jack. Sweet, funny, mischievous. He refuses to let me have a boring day...you know a day with no big spills or broken glass. As if his mission in life is to keep me on my toes, ten minutes after taping the above clip, he decided to bust a bottle of red wine on the carpet. This is what my carpet looks like after trying to clean it up. We have been squeezed in for an emergency carpet cleaning tomorrow, but I have serious doubts that anything will get this up. Isn't it lovely?
