-Jack learned a new trick that involves filling his mouth with juice or milk and allowing it to slowly roll out of his mouth. When his brother begins laughing, he changes gears and decides spitting the liquid would be more fun. They think it is hilarious. I, however, am not amused.
-After weeks of struggling to pull the buckle out from underneath my 42 pound three year old (that he always sits on) so I can fasten his car seat, I have decided it's time for a booster seat.
-I discovered that if you accidentally buy a blue ray disc and put into your plain old DVD player, you will need tweezers, your husband and patience to get it back out.
-Hoping to encourage Sam to try the potty to handle his # 2 business, I upped my reward and offered him a trip to the big North Carolina zoo to see all the bears. He immediately perked up and asked how much stinky he has to do in the potty to get a trip to the zoo. I told him he has to do a regular, big stinky. He quickly informed me that he would rather just do a little stinky and he could just go to a little zoo. I give up...
-Landry has spent all week in the backyard and appears to have crapped on an hourly basis which led to an unpleasant grass-cutting experience for me last night. Of course I'm referring to our lamb and not my sweet little niece.
-Jack had begun calling for me when he wakes up in the morning..."Mama, Mama" in what may be the sweetest voice I've ever heard. If I don't get there fast enough he begins calling, "My Mama, my Mama." Pure sweetness...
-Sam's love for bears continues to grow and he is expanding his collection. This week he added a panda bear which he happily named "Jody bear."
-We celebrated Sam and Jack's great grandmother's 80 birthday with a dinner in the church fellowship hall with all her family and church friends. I read memories and thoughts about Willa from a podium with a very loud microphone. At the end, Jack ran to me and climbed into my arms. I turned my head and my son put his mouth around the mic and blew very loudly. The sound was deafening and those old folks jumped out of their skin. One man nearly fell out of his seat and was overheard saying he thought something had hit him in the back of his head..like what I wonder, a gunshot? There's nothing like seeing a large group of senior citizens scared out of their skin by my youngest, very mischievous son.
-In an attempt to exercise, I joined Ally for a quick workout DVD. The trainer called for hand weights and in an attempt to improvise, we used canned goods. While doing abs, Jack grabbed one of the cans of green beans and threw it at me, connecting with the back of my head. I still have a knot.
-Jack suddenly enjoys pulling his diaper off and peeing on the floor. I can't keep a diaper on him. And after a week of peeing and one stinky surprise, I had our carpet cleaned. Jody insists that I should rub his nose in it like he is a Labrador retriever. Please note, I haven't done that...yet.
-Sam insists on helping clean up his toys now. His idea of cleaning up involves piling every toy, and I do mean every single one, in a pile in the middle of the floor. I thank him for helping and spend the next two hours cleaning up after his clean up.
-We joined a local pool for the summer and I can't even begin to tell you the anxiety the flooded over me after signing the paperwork. It's a huge pool with a large water slide, lazy river and great kiddie pool and I am scared to death. Jack Standley at a swimming pool...I may need a nerve pill before slipping on his swimmies.
And since no post about my sweeties is complete without pictures...here's Sam begging to leave Cade's t-ball game which he found very, very boring, Jack waving his hardest to his beloved cows and a little brotherly love.
