Sam was a big help. He helped Jody with the tomato plants while I worked to plant the seeds. Jody gave Sam a job finding any big rocks in the rows and throwing them in the cow pasture. This was right up his alley and involved a few of his favorite things...dirt, rocks and throwing things. He enjoyed doing this and stayed occupied with this task the entire time we finished our planting.
Jody taught Sam all about the importance of walking between the rows and being extra careful not step on the plants. He loved walking up and down the garden and jumping over the rows. He had a few "accidents" and stomped on the rows, each time saying he was sorry and he wouldn't do it again.
We are excited to see our plants grow and to spend time together working in our garden. Jack will surely love digging in the dirt as much as Sam did and I can't wait to see both of them working hard on their own little row. Sam proudly told me as he worked, "Look Mommy. I'm a farmer." This will surely be a fun summer as we enjoy our garden with our two cute, litte farmers.
