Landry lamb has grown to love Sam and Jack and runs right up to them now when they enter her stall. Sam and Cannon fed her carrots as Jack patted her back. I was holding Landry as the boys petted her and fed her. She was clinging tight to my side and I knew she was a little unsure of this little lamb. I sat her down on the bucket beside Jody hoping it would help ease her worries.
I thought if she sat there and watched the boys play with her, she may want to hop down and rub her too. She was doing fine, still a little nervous, but she sat there like a champ. That is until she felt a slight nibble on her shirt...She turned to see that little lamb had snuck up behind her and without a moment of hesitation, she threw the stiff arm to her face and sent her a quick message, in the most lady-like way she knew how, to "get the heck outta her space."
And then she wigged out. Unlike any wigging out I've ever seen. My ears are still ringing from the screams and I am pretty certain I have some permanent hearing loss in my left ear. I couldn't get the stall door open fast enough to get her (and me) out. It took several minutes for her to calm down and release the scissor hold she had put on me when she wrapped her legs around my side.
So the first meeting between Landry and her namesake didn't quite go as expected. Maybe she doesn't understand that in the south it is an honor to have something named after you...even if it is livestock.

Funny. She seems scared of everything these days. I didn't recognize her at first with the hat on and ears poking out. That face look a little more like Cade than I realize. Thanks for keeping them this afternoon.

Oh Landry how funny you are. Girl you don't stand a chance with all those boys. I pity the guy that falls for you. He will never be good enough and those boys will never let you have a moments peace. All the other boys will be afraid to come near you with all those brothers and cousins.. You are so beautiful Landry. Love you
