Big Bear Birthday

Sam has been talking a lot lately about his birthday.  March 28.  Still two months away, but for some reason it is on his mind constantly. I knew for sure we would be hosting a big farm and tractor party this year...complete with our very own animals and a few borrowed ones.  There would be tractor rides and pony rides...a hay ride down past the barn and over the creek.  It would be perfect way to celebrate turning three.

But Sam has changed his mind about his big birthday party.  He insists that he is having a "Big Bear" party and is going to get a special bear costume to wear.  Apparently, he has plans to run out at his party, dressed like a bear, and growl really loudly at his guests.  Then, just as everyone is running away, he will say, "It's okay.  It's okay.  I am a nice bear."

I have heard this story 15 times in the past three days.  He is pretty insistent about having a bear party.  I have no idea where this new obsession has come from.  Maybe he will change his mind.  If not, a bear party it will be.  And by the way, Sam's really getting old.  He insists he is going to be 29 on his birthday.  29.  Wouldn't it be great to have no concept of time, no concept of age or years.  He certainly has no concept of age...he sweetly told Nana that he was going to be 29, but she was still 28.  Guess a career guessing ages at the fair isn't going to happen for him, huh?
